Pediatric Technology Group (PTG)

Recommendation

The PTTF has a limited lifespan and charge. The PTTF has prioritized issues and addressed the most pressing items both in terms of their significance and alignment with other active processes. Many issues were not addressed (see below) and many issues will require continuous development and/or quality improvement.

The PTTF therefore recommends the formation of a Pediatric Technology Group, appointed by the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, whose purpose is to:
  1. Advise the Chair on technology issues relevant to the department’s education, research, advocacy and clinical activities
  2. Assist with coordination of technology initiatives across divisions
  3. Work in test environments for new technology to assist with development, piloting, troubleshooting, and other evaluations.
  4. Liaison to CCRC

Issues Not Addressed by the PTTF

  1. Structure and content of data proposed for the CCRC
  2. ADT
  3. Identifying attending physician of record accurately throughtout hospital stays
Ongoing Projects

  1. Epic rollout in the Department
  2. Managing transition from paper to electronic records
  3. Identify best practices in divisions
  4. Continued development of technology related to the basic research enterprise
  5. Archiving, preservation and access of health info
